The latter has been promoted as the first chief of three forces, (first Chief of the Defence Staff of India). The first CDS of the country was appointed on the 30th December 2019 and he took charge today i.e. 1st Jan 2020. General Bipin Rawat has had an illustrious and long career in the army.
